KBilling Docs

Install KBilling with cPanel

A complete cPanel installation path from database creation through the first administrator login.

Audience: server administratorsTime: 20–30 minutesRequires: cPanel and HTTPS

Before you begin

  • A domain or subdomain points to this hosting account.
  • PHP 8.2 or newer is selected with PDO MySQL, cURL, OpenSSL, JSON, mbstring and sessions.
  • An empty MySQL 8 or MariaDB 10.5+ database is available.
  • You have the complete stable KBilling ZIP—not an incremental update package.

Upload and extract KBilling

  1. Open cPanel → File Manager and enter the document root for the billing domain.
  2. Upload kbilling-full-vX.Y.Z.zip.
  3. Extract the archive. Confirm that index.php, install/, includes/ and templates/ are directly inside the document root, not inside another nested folder.
  4. Delete the uploaded ZIP after extraction.

Create the database

  1. Open MySQL Databases.
  2. Create a database and a separate database user with a unique password.
  3. Add the user to the database and grant the required privileges.
  4. Record the full cPanel-prefixed database and username exactly as displayed.

Run the installer

  1. Visit https://billing.example.com/install/.
  2. Resolve every failed environment check before continuing.
  3. Enter the database host, name, username and password.
  4. Create the first administrator account and choose a private admin directory.
  5. Complete installation and confirm that configuration.php and install/install.lock exist.

Finish securely

  • Open the private administrator URL and sign in.
  • Enable administrator two-factor authentication.
  • Set the canonical System URL to HTTPS with a trailing slash.
  • Configure cron using the absolute PHP and KBilling paths.
  • Send an SMTP test message and place a test order.
VerificationThe homepage, client login, private admin login and cron status page should load without redirects to the installer.
