Fix cron that works manually but not automatically
Diagnose scheduler paths, PHP versions, permissions and stale Automation Status timestamps.
Interpret the symptom
A successful manual run proves KBilling’s automation code can execute under the web request or current shell user. It does not prove cPanel Cron Jobs, system cron or the intended CLI PHP binary is invoking it.
Check in order
- Copy the exact absolute command from the server, not from a local example.
- Run that command as the same operating-system user used by cron.
- Temporarily redirect stdout and stderr to a private diagnostic file.
- Confirm the CLI PHP version and extensions.
- Inspect the system cron log or cPanel cron email.
- After a scheduled interval, confirm Last Cron Invocation advances automatically.
