Requirements and installation

Prepare the server, install the schema, and lock down the installer.

Server requirements

• PHP 8.2+ with PDO MySQL, cURL, OpenSSL, JSON, mbstring and sessions.
• MySQL 8+ or MariaDB 10.5+ using InnoDB and utf8mb4.
• HTTPS, cron, private writable storage and web-server rewrite/protection rules.

Install

1. Upload the release to the intended document root.
2. Create an empty database and least-privilege database user.
3. Open /install/ and complete the environment, database and first-admin steps.
4. Confirm configuration.php and install/install.lock exist.
5. Block installer access and enforce HTTPS.

Manual configuration

Copy configuration.php.new to configuration.php and set database values, a random 64-character encryption key, canonical URL with trailing slash, and renamed admin directory.
