Sell and provision KBilling licenses

Category: Feature Tutorials 2 Views 0 Helpful Votes

Create licensing-only plans, connect the authority module and test paid-order provisioning.

Connect the licensing authority

  1. Create a portal API client on the authority with a random 32-byte secret and the billing server’s exact outbound IP allowlist.
  2. In the client manager, add a server using module KBilling Licensing.
  3. Set hostname to the portal API hostname, username to the portal client ID and Access Hash to the base64 secret.
  4. Enable Secure and run Test Connection.

Create license plans

Create separate monthly, annual and lifetime products. Assign the licensing server/module, the supported entitlements and a required Licensed Domain field. Hide unrelated hosting products from the licensing storefront rather than deleting historical records.

Test the complete lifecycle

  1. Place an order with a test customer and valid domain.
  2. Mark the invoice paid through a real test-mode gateway callback.
  3. Confirm the service becomes Active and a license appears on the authority.
  4. Download the full installer, activate it and verify installation telemetry.
  5. Test suspend, reactivate, renewal, termination and controlled reissue.
Keep the boundaryThe billing portal owns customers, orders, invoices and support. The licensing authority owns license state, activation and signed release authorization.
